PRODUCT OVERVIEW For the 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro/Pontiac Firebird (F-body), a properly engineered torque arm suspension system is crucial for cars with high horsepower and torque. Whether you're pushing your car through tight corners or launching hard on the drag strip, the stock torque arm, which attaches to the transmission's tail housing, is often the weak link in higher horsepower cars. This can lead to the tail housing cracking or the factory torque arm bending under stress. RELOCATED TORQUE ARM MOUNT The factory torque arm, which mounts to the tail housing of the transmission, is widely considered the weak link. If you've increased the power level of your 3rd Gen, damaged transmission tail housings can be a common, and costly issue. QA1 has designed a solution with a torque arm and dedicated transmission crossmember to provide greater strength and peace of mind. It increases traction, reduces wheel hop, and reduces dive during braking. DIRECT FIT WITH YOUR REAR END HOUSING The QA1 torque arm is a direct fit with several popular rear end housings. This specific torque arm fits OEM, Strange 12 Bolts, and aftermarket 9 inch housings. Additionally, it features pinion angle adjustability, allowing for precise tuning based on your vehicle's setup. THOUGHTFUL DESIGN The QA1 torque arm installs cleanly with a new transmission crossmember, fitting snugly in the tunnel without compromising ground clearance or exhaust clearance. It utilizes QA1 X-series Chromoly rod ends for mounting to the differential, ensuring strength. A polyurethane bushing at the front mount reduces noise and vibration while maintaining strength and durability. TESTED TO 1,000 LB-FT TORQUE This torque arm has been rigorously tested to withstand up to 1,000 lb-ft of torque, making it suitable for high-performance builds.
